Guido von List was given a vision of an 18 rune system that he felt was more ancient than any known Futhark. Thus the Armanist system was begun by List's dedication to ancient and authentic ways.

The Listian system is a product of considerable study, research, and field-work by List and those continuuing the work of their mentor.
